Job Overview:

Function

Directs, manages, and coordinates all activities related to the integrated business planning process.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Sales & Operations Planning:  
    1. Develops, tracks, and analyzes the sales and operation plan, both inputs and outcomes, and makes recommendations for production planning changes.  
    2. Actively supports new business activity through the total supply chain (from planning through delivery).
    3. Assists the commercial team in margin improvement initiatives through least cost plant sourcing.  
    4. Works with the finance team to refine and improve the integration between the IBP and business management processes.
  2. Production & Inventory Planning:  
    1. Develops the capacity/production and inventory plan for the annual budget planning process while staying within the target inventory range defined by finance.  
    2. Develops the Integrated Business Plan (IBP) by considering the demand (sales forecast) in combination with the inventory targets set by the financial team to define the target production rates across the facilities that will allow the company to fully satisfy customer’s demand.
    3. Develops standardized processes for the planning (including item sourcing) and inventory segments of supply chain.
    4. Facilitates and coordinates the servicing requirements of the customer through the different inventory programs, such as consignment, hold orders, safety stocks, among others.  
    5. Facilitates the process to document and enhance production planning standards, while highlighting opportunities to improve productivity and reduce costs.  
    6. Coordinates and sets FG inventory levels for the plants and manages the flow of FG inventories and stocking levels at our external warehouses and consignment locations to fully satisfy our customer’s needs.
    7. Directs the efforts to maintain the inventories according to the goals set by Finance, by defining raw requirements by plant and coordinates volume distribution by plant/supplier.
  3. Systems and Processes:  
    1. Directs the analysis of supply chain solutions to optimize costs associated with meeting customer requirements.   
    2. Directs the development and implementation of systems (automated and manual) to continually enhance and optimize production planning and control, inventory planning and control, and customer service management.
  4. Training:  
    1. Provides training to ensure best practices are being followed in the planning and inventory segments while maintaining a high standard for integrity.

Position Specifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.  An MBA is preferred.  APICS certification preferred. 

Seven (7) years of management experience in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Production Control/Planning, Operations Management, Information Technology or related field.

Knowledge of Magnet Wire Manufacturing process and equipment capability.

Knowledge of systems/processes specifically as they relate to production, inventory, logistics, and demand management.  

Must be able to design and implement systems (manual and/or computer) in relation to production control management and performance objectives.

Experience in production planning/control in a “process” industry.  

Excellent presentation and communications skills, Microsoft Office, MFG-Pro, and ERP systems in general.
