Job Overview:

Position Summary:

 

Manages purchasing, distribution, master scheduling, demand planning, and outbound customer freight for the plant.  Accountable for development and execution of plant supply planning processes and systems (MPS, MRP, DRP, CRP, etc.).  Responsible for achieving key customer service metrics in terms of on-time to promise, lead times, and inventory.

 

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Develops and implements supply chain processes and tools, with emphasis on Lean where possible, to drive on-time order fulfillment at the best cost while balancing inventory levels.
  2. Manages purchasing and distribution processes at the plant.  Supports corporate purchasing and distribution initiatives.
  3. Manages demand planning for round film insulated products of the plant.  Supports corporate planning initiatives.
  4. Manages the master scheduling and capacity plans for the plant.
  5. Manages inventory targets and production run lengths for round film products according to plans.
  6. Identifies, negotiates, and resolves conflicts with respect to product and capacity availability and order-promising integrity.
  7. Supports transition of customer demand.
    1. In the event of new business, ensures that logistics requirements are defined, agreed upon and documented.  In addition, oversees set-up of internal parameters to facilitate transparent and timely transition. 
    2. In the event of business cessation or product conversions, ensures that all unique finished goods inventory is depleted, and demand is eliminated.
  8. Supports sales and customer service for round film insulated products.
    1. Advises sales and corporate supply chain when demand exceeds available capacity and offers alternative solutions.
    2. Accountable for the accuracy of promised delivery dates.  
    3. Oversees external warehoused and consigned finished goods inventory.
    4. Ensures that customer service priorities established by Sales are preserved.

Qualifications Required:

 

Bachelor’s degree (Operations, Supply Chain Management, IT, Engineering, etc.) 

Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing production/materials planning functions within a continuous flow manufacturing environment preferred.

Advanced understanding of supply chain planning, including logistics, operations/materials management, demand management, and customer service.

Advanced understanding and use of ERP systems.   Must understand collaborative forecast systems. 

Excellent computer / analytical skills, including use of Microsoft Office

Experience in querying/report writing relational databases preferred

Must be able to work and communicate effectively with all levels in the organization and customers in a harmonious, collaborative and professional manner

 

Qualifications Preferred:

 

Master’s degree preferred

CPIM/CSCP certification preferred
