Position Description: This role will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and aligning volume & revenue forecasts for the business unit. You will ensure that sales forecasts are visible, planned, and supported through the supply chain while delivering customer satisfaction and improving inventory and working capital year over year. This position will interface with sales and marketing organizations, utilizing statistics, sales projects, and market intelligence to develop a rolling 18-month SKU level demand plan. This position is the linkage between sales forecasting, marketing programs and manufacturing, bringing closer alignment to the Sales Inventory & Operations Planning Process.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead the SIOP organization at a business unit level (Customer Management, Scheduling, Supply Chain, and Logistics)
- This role is integral in linking business strategy to our operational plans and identifying key risks in meeting plans to a cross-functional leadership team
- Cross-functional collaboration will be key within the role to synchronize demand, supply and finance plans while balancing service level and inventory value.
- Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical minimal order QTYs and safety stock, and evaluate forecast results
- In addition, deep analytical skills will be pivotal to support SIOP demand planning, operational execution, and financial alignment.
- Create baseline demand plan converting sales plans to unit production requirements and benchmarking against demand plan.
- Create reports, manage metrics, and establish automated data interconnectivity with other sources for the purpose of driving performance to plan
- Identify sources of demand/supply imbalances that would prevent achievable, effective, and level-loaded production schedules
- Manage the digital strategy for the SIOP teams to ensure team members are focused on analyzing data and not producing it
- Produce key reporting and analytics deliverables for the immediate team and executive leadership
- Facilitate regional demand planning meetings with direct interaction and input from sales and marketing.
- Provide pro-active professional gap analysis of demand, financial, supply plans.
- Document major assumptions in the demand plan, including the coordination of new products, projects, promotions, events and/or customer planning activities.
- Validate and align of baseline forecasts to meet the Regions sales goals with regional sales leaders.
- Adjust baseline forecasts to include demand forecast exceptions provided by sales team
- Provide root cause analysis and corrective actions to continually improve demand plan quality.
- Provide relentless, professional 3-step feedback loop on monthly basis (demand plan vs. incoming order rates vs. plant shipments.)
- Lead corrective action on behalf of regional Sales Inventory & Operations Planning team for demand plan accuracy, sales forecast accuracy.
- Partner with SIOP process team and supply planners to facilitate maximum customer satisfaction, stakeholder satisfaction and financial performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Operations management, Supply chain Management, or Logistics.
- 6-10 years of experience in operations planning/scheduling, inventory management, capacity planning, Global Sourcing, and Sales Inventory & Operations Planning related functional area.
- 5+ years of experience utilizing ERP systems and MRP fundamentals
- Experience Deploying innovative and effective solutions resulting in risk mitigation and improved execution
- Experience with cross-discipline collaboration in a multiple processes manufacturing company
- Ability to perform at a high-level with autonomy – exercise personal influence, conflict resolution
- APICS, CPIM, CPSM, or CPF certification preferred
- Experience with SAP-similar ERP systems
- Experience with a Demand Planning tool (e.g. RapidResponse, SAP APO module, Forecast Pro).
- Proficient in Microsoft applications.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with strong verbal & written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to efficiently multi-task, prioritize, and delegate.
- Ability to collaborate with both internal and external customers.
- Understanding of supply chain concepts and their financial impact (inventory turns, cash flow, and working capital)
