Position Title: Supply Chain Manager
Position Summary
Lead and manage the Gurnee Supply Chain Team to deliver a reliable and effective production plan. Manage warehousing services that balance responsiveness, cost and inventory holding in full alignment with SIOP process. Drive continuous improvement and standardization of processes for all supply chain activities. Make effective use of systems automation. Effective coordination with all areas of the Supply Chain and Business (manufacturing, demand management, warehousing). Scope covers planning for local manufacturing, resale and tolling with inventory management of finished goods to agreed stocking policies. Drive alignment in the business and site of process and organization with global strategies and opportunities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop & implement the overall Supply Chain Strategy for the site from supplier to customer
Strategic with Purchase team for implementation of all supply sources
Effectively consult, respond to and enable the planning/logistics team. Provide information as input to the creation & improvement of global distribution network through integrated planning systems
Provide information to the business as part of the SIOP process and the drive to optimize inventory.
Act as a liaison between employees, internal/external support areas and other departments
Ensure difficult/sensitive problems are properly escalated in a timely appropriate manner
Updates management on function issues and progress
Supervise, lead, and develop sourcing, purchasing, production scheduling, warehousing, and inventory control team members.
Develop ABC Inventory Control Policies.
Complies with all regulatory statutes.
Independently reviews and adjusts stocking position(s) on all stocking items which incorporates supply lead time and demand conditions to ensure adequate inventory turns and serve business needs.
Reviews inventory and demand (forecasts, orders, requests for inventory) and sets 6+ month production schedule and capacity projections.
Manages supply components of SIOP meetings.
Manages the overall inventory stocking levels at all domestic locations (sets DRP Values) based on MRP and Forecast inputs.
Assists in developing supply chain management procedures and processes.
Alternate to Inventory Control and planners to manage daily Inventory duties.
Participates on system implementation and upgrade teams.
Education & Experience:
Minimum of 8 years of experience in sourcing, purchasing, planning, warehousing and logistics. Management experience is required.
College degree in operations, business, or other related areas or equivalent work experience
Knowledge, Skills, & Talents
Communication: Demonstrates maturity in dealing with conflict etc.; superior communication skills including listening, verbal and written
Computer skills: Understand and use of appropriate systems to enable the planning process – SAP, Epicor, Forecast Pro.
Building Teamwork: Demonstrates support of supply chain’s mission by maintaining favorable relationships with business peers, subordinates, and other internal/external customers.
Customer focus: Demonstrate service-oriented attitude under all situations.
Developing People: Acts as a positive role model for others; Ability to successfully train and cross-train people, coach them in their current roles and develop them for future promotion.
Pay and Benefits
The estimated base pay range for this position is: $110,000 - $160,000 annually. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, qualifications, skills and geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in a short-term incentive program.
