Supply Chain Manager
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of warehouse operations within the supply chain. This includes inventory management, work order management, and ensuring efficient movement of goods and materials from warehouse to production programs. The Supply Chain Manager plays a critical role in optimizing the supply chain process, reducing costs, improving productivity, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Lead and manage a team of warehouse personnel, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
- Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork and collaboration.
- Provide guidance and support to warehouse staff, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
- Ensures each department maintains a safe, clean work environment by following cGMP and SOP guidelines.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of warehouse employees.
- Oversee day-to-day warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, and organizing inventory to support efficient warehouse processes.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate staging of inventory to work orders.
- Identify slow moving and obsolete inventory and consolidate those inventories to section of warehouse.
- Coordinate with all warehouse teams to ensure timely work order pulls and delivery.
- Support the Purchasing and Logistics team by identifying areas for improvement in the receiving process.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within the warehouse operations.
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies and goals aligned with the organization's overall objectives.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of the supply chain.
- Analyze data and generate reports to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and best practices.
- Investigates critical shortages or overages to determine root cause to avoid repeating errors.
- Owns and leads special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Technical Skills Required
- Ability to read, understand, and transfer knowledge related to SOPs and WIs.
- Strong math and computer skills.
- Good recordkeeping and data entry skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Supply Chain and Operations management.
- Organized and analytical.
- Self-motivated, collaborative, detail-oriented team player.
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, several years of experience in supply chain related roles, with increasing level of responsibility.
- Proven experience in warehouse management and supply chain operations.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in using supply chain management software and tools for data analysis and planning (e.g., ERP systems (Sage X3, inventory management software, and demand forecasting tools).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in warehousing.
- Ability to lead people and form an effective team to accomplish company goals.
- Regularly sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to sit, balance, climb, stand, bend, squat, squeeze, kneel, turn, crouch, and stoop repeatedly.
- Physically able to lift 25 pounds on a regular basis.
- Frequent exposure to varying temperatures, loud noises, heavy machinery, fumes, or airborne particles, electrical, chemicals, and moving parts.
- Prolonged use of computer screen and/or scan gun.
