Based at our Norfolk, VA, plant, you will develop/Review logistics/distribution strategies and processes to deliver customers or for entering new markets with local production and through trading activities.
Development and support of Supply Chain/Logistic/Customer Service team across sites.
Work closely with Manufacturing, Sales and Purchasing to create a timely and cost- effective domestic/import/export supply chain.
Be responsible for the performance of domestic and international carriers and logistics intermediaries.
Ensure compliance with international and domestic laws related to import/export activity.
Evaluate tradeoffs between transportation cost, inventory cost and service levels.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for all aspects of receiving, operations planning and distribution/ transportation (rail / road / sea export)
Ensure effective team development, collaboration and support through setting and monitoring annual performance plans, career development and cooperative spirit
Maintain accountability for the supply chain operating budget
Accountable for Customer satisfaction through OTIF, Claim reports
Capable of managing change, when business conditions dictate, while driving improvement into plant activities with every touch point
Embrace and build the necessary capability to adapt the team, stocks, resources, etc.
Ensure customer needs are met, advising the Imerys production and sales teams of client expectations, and coordinate response to opportunities and challenges
Support 3PL partnership to ensure adherence to budget, business processes, procedures and practices
Work with key leaders/function in the corporate office to ensure smooth communication and resolve issues
Serve as a key member of the supply chain network across the system in developing our functional capability
Develop strong relationships with customer procurement and Imerys production/supply chain to ensure “best in class” customer satisfaction.
Provide timely and accurate reporting of activities and customer information to meet Imerys reporting requirements
Be the Customer Experience ambassador for RAC Supply Chain Scope in Americas
Skills and Experiences:
Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Business or other related area
5-7 years of experience in supply chain management in a worldwide environment; (preferably with post-graduate Certification in Transportation & Logistics (CTL) or certification APICS
Working knowledge of inventory management, production scheduling, DRP
Deep knowledge ERP - Information Systems
Fluent English knowledge
Excellent organizational and planning skills
Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
An analytical mind with strong math skills
Approximately 30% travel
Excellent ability to promote new ideas and implement new processes/tools to support profitable business development and customer satisfaction.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities with ability to actively build and maintain critical relationships internally and externally
