Job Overview:

Position Summary:

Direct or coordinate production, purchasing, warehousing, distribution, or financial forecasting services to minimize costs and enhance accuracy, customer service, and safety within the supply chain. Evaluate existing procedures and identify opportunities for streamlining activities to meet product distribution needs efficiently. Oversee the movement, storage, and processing of inventory to ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities:

Demand Planning

  • Collaborate with supply chain planners to forecast demand and ensure material/product availability.
  • Monitor forecasts and quotas to assess impacts on supply chain activities.

Process Management / Improvement

  • Define performance metrics for supply chain factors like product cost or quality.
  • Analyze inventories to enhance inventory turns, reduce waste, and optimize customer service.
  • Develop procedures for cross-functional coordination within the organization.

Supplier Management

  • Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors, and freight forwarders.
  • Manage strategic and tactical purchasing, material planning, and inventory control.
  • Coordinate engineering changes and new product launches for smooth material flow.

Environmental / Reverse Supply Chain

  • Implement supply chains supporting environmental policies.
  • Design and oversee product take-back or reverse logistics programs.
  • Evaluate technology solutions for improved tracking and reporting of materials.

Contracts / Purchase Orders

  • Manage supplier contracting and purchase order administration processes.
  • Support purchasing supplier inventory management processes such as Consignment and VMI.

ISO Audit / Special Government Requirements

  • Maintain ISO compliance with procedure maintenance and compliance.
  • Participate in annual ISO Certification Audit.
  • Maintain a subcontracting plan compliant with government agency requirements.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP or ISM CPSM Certification.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Supply Chain Management. 
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills for process optimization and performance evaluation.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt supply chains to changing market conditions and business strategies.
  • Familiarity with environmental policies and regulations.
  • Proficiency in ISO compliance and audit procedures.
  • Knowledge of government agency requirements for subcontracting plans.
