Job Overview:

**Summary/Objective:

**

We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Supply Chain Assistant to support our Senior Supply Chain Manager in day-to-day operations across our manufacturing facility. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced supply chain environment and grow within a dynamic operations team. As the role develops, there is opportunity for increased responsibility and advancement within the supply chain and operations team.

**Essential Functions: 

**

Inventory Management

  • Review the planned material requirements report to monitor on-hand inventory levels, projected consumption, and anticipated shortages 

  • Flag materials approaching negative inventory levels to the Sr. Manager to support timely purchasing decisions 

  • Use report data to assist in determining when purchase orders need to be created or expedited

**Vendor & Supplier Coordination

**

  • Assist in managing routine supplier inquiries, order follow-ups, and basic issue resolution under the direction of the Sr. Manager 

  • Help process and track purchase orders from creation through delivery confirmation 

  • Monitor inbound shipment status and assist in communicating delays or changes to relevant internal teams 

  • Support supplier communication efforts to help ensure on-time delivery (OTD), following up on open orders and escalating concerns to the Sr. Manager as needed 

  • Help serve as a communication link between suppliers and internal teams — including production, warehouse, and customer service — to support material flow alignment 

  • Assist in onboarding new vendors by collecting documentation and setting up supplier records in M1 

  • Help maintain and update the approved vendor list and supplier contact database 

  • Assist in scheduling supplier meetings, calls, and performance reviews 

  • Assist in gathering data for supplier scorecard tracking across metrics such as quality, delivery, and responsiveness, and help summarize findings for the Sr. Manager's review 

  • Help stage, package, and prepare parts and materials to support timely driver dispatch and outbound shipments

**Qualifications/Competencies:

**

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Must be computer proficient and comfortable learning new software and systems quickly

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook) required

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

This position requires the ability to lift products and supplies, up to 50 pounds. May be subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, and dust.

**Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

**

This is an hourly non-exempt

 position, and minimum hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm.
