Job Overview:

This is a full-time remote position.  


ROLE SUMMARY

The Supply Chain Analyst / Buyer is responsible for managing day-to-day procurement and supply planning activities to ensure product availability, inventory accuracy, and strong supplier performance. This role requires strong analytical skills, a high level of ownership, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure consistent delivery, quality, and service performance
  • Create and manage purchase orders (POs) within SAP
  • Monitor open orders and proactively resolve delivery exceptions (late, short, or damaged shipments)
  • Maintain inventory levels aligned with business needs and target levels
  • Analyze demand, supply, and inventory data to support informed decision-making
  • Partner with suppliers on lead times, forecasts, and issue resolution
  • Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies in collaboration with suppliers and Finance
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, Sales, and Planning teams
  • Identify and implement process improvements within procurement and supply chain operations
  • Maintain accurate system data, including lead times, pricing, and minimum order quantities (MOQs)

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBLES:

  • Monitor supplier performance related to quality, delivery, and service
  • Provide backup support to the Purchasing Manager, including approval of non-exempt timecards and time-off requests
  • Support junior team members as needed
  • Resolve supplier disputes and discrepancies to achieve positive outcomes
  • Perform other duties as assigned


SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Experience working within an SAP ERP system
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and manage large datasets
  • Understanding of key supply chain metrics (e.g., inventory turns, service levels, lead times)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods of time
  • Ability to move throughout the facility, including the warehouse, as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field (preferred)
  • 2–5+ years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or planning
  • Experience managing suppliers and purchase orders
  • Exposure to inventory management and demand/supply planning concepts
