Job Title: Supplier Quality Engineer

Department:   Quality 

Accountability:   This Position Reports to the Sr. Quality Manager

Responsibilities:              

• Lead and/or participate in design for manufacturability reviews, and implement recommendations and improvements.
• Research and identify the best suppliers for existing and new items.
• Perform regular quality control and procedure audits to ensure suppliers continue to work in compliance with company and other relevant standards.
• Provide feedback to suppliers to help them improve their processes relevant to Havis products.
• Work with inspectors and engineers to establish incoming inspection requirements and assess incoming inspection results to evaluate supplier performance.
• Work with other Havis departments to identify tests and assessments appropriate for products to identify quality issues, and establish test procedures.
• Maintain records of supplier quality, and provide data for the quality component of supplier scorecards.
• Provide technical advice and guidance to suppliers to reduce defect rates.
• Serve as a liaison between suppliers and other Havis departments.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering; electrical background preferred.
• Five or more years’ experience within manufacturing and production processes.
• Excellent statistical analysis and quality assurance skills.
• In-depth knowledge of the technical aspects of electronics manufacturing preferred.
• Good working knowledge of quality control standards and government compliance.
• Ability to provide guidance to improve process efficiency at vendor locations.
• Excellent communication and liaison skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% with some international travel expected.
