What You Will Do:

The selected Supplier Quality Engineer will provide support to the Airfoils and Composites Product Center relative to improvement of suppliers' Quality as well as providing Quality interface, expertise and support to Suppliers. The candidate shall be highly motivated and effective team player with strong communication and influential skills.

Major Job responsibilities are include (while not limited to):

  • Focus on Supplier Quality Improvement.
  • Engage/integrate supply chain teams and engineering resources to deliver double-digit improvement in cost, quality and customer satisfaction for the respective commodity.
  • Leverage existing resources/tools such as Root cause analysis, Supplier Gold and certified quality clinics to drive improvement.
  • Understand key aspects of managing and assuring supplier Quality to support and achieve best-in-class supplier quality, delivery and service while act as primary Quality Engineer on a limited number of suppliers
  • Maintain key relationships with suppliers’ Quality and Operations Management teams, as well as PW Engineering and Procurement teams.
  • Collect/Compile data and drive Continuous improvement initiatives at the supplier in support of cost and lead-time reduction, and in reaction to escapes.
  • Require suppliers to find root cause and implement corrective / preventive action on all escapes and high pain recurring quality issues.
  • Coordinate quality issues with PW Engineering and Supplier Engineering on supplier-designed components.
  • Facilitate Vendor Corrective Action Board (VCAB) reviews.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in a STEM related field of study to include Engineering, Math, Computer Science or other related technical field of study.
  • Minimum 8 years prior Quality Engineering, Manufacturing, Engineering experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum six years quality engineering experience
  • Must be highly motivated and self-starter with a strong desire to succeed and pursue continued growth and developmental opportunities.
  • Must be able to demonstrate ability and willingness to own quality performance metrics and drive the world class quality culture.
  • Must be able to obtain data from part prints/specifications, and then process that data into meaningful information on process capability.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently.
  • Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, and must have demonstrated ability to work effectively with associates at all levels throughout the organization.
  • Computer skills- Proficiency in Word, Power Point, Excel, Project.
  • Practical CORE/Six Sigma experience a plus.
  • Experience with SAP and other IT Quality system a plus.
  • Understanding of ASQR-01 / AS9100

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
