Supplier Quality Engineer

Position Summary:
The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that our product meets or exceeds customer expectations through the development and implementation of Quality Systems, Controls, Procedures, and Standards. This role will focus on resolving internal quality issues, managing warranty claims, and addressing supplier quality concerns with a goal of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is experienced, passionate, and data-driven, with a strong ability to analyze trends, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective quality improvements.
Supplier Quality Engineer Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all current specifications and standards.
- Monitor and report on all quality-related activities, processes, and procedures.
- Develop internal auditing tools and conduct internal quality audits and reports.
- Investigate product quality problems, determine root causes, gather and analyze data, and implement corrective actions to reduce or eliminate defects.
- Work closely with Manufacturing and Engineering to identify and implement corrective actions and improvements in quality.
- Develop and implement quality improvement plans based on data-driven solutions.
- Prepare and maintain quality management documentation, including FMEAs and Control Plans.
- Assist with the development of company processes, procedures, and standards.
- Define and develop Quality Performance Indicators and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate and manage warranty claims, working with internal teams to identify issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with suppliers to address quality concerns, including managing supplier performance, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide manufacturing with quality planning, support, and guidance.
- Work proactively to implement changes and processes to improve overall product quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Specific Job Requirements:
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Lean Quality metrics.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality or process engineering support.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Lean Quality metrics.
- Experience with ISO systems, preferably ISO 9001 or IATF.
- Experience creating and maintaining quality documentation (e.g., PPAPs, FMEAs, Control Plans).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong technical competencies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
