Position Summary:
This role will lead and optimize daily operations for the Warehouse & Logistics team.
It would be a Supervisor or Manager level depending on prior experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage receipt and storage of raw materials and consumables in a GMP warehouse environment (includes goods receipt, put away, movement transactions, cycle counts, etc.)
- Manage storage of Bulk Drug Substance (BDS) and coordinate cold chain logistics of BDS, samples and other materials.
- Fulfill requests for materials to Manufacturing, Process Development and QC located in different buildings up to 1.5 miles away.
- Be the Subject Matter Expert for Warehouse/Logistics during audits and inspections.
- Help train staff and develop On-the-Job training where appropriate.
- Emphasize a safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and Environmental Health and Safety directives.
- Ensure the team is trained prior to executing their work, and that activities are done in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and cGMP.
- Coordinate occasional international outbound shipments and perform export compliance due diligence checks.
- Lead direct reports and provide feedback for their professional development.
- Maintain a collaborate atmosphere across the team and with other functions.
Working Conditions:
This role is based in Fremont, CA.
The role involves movement of materials between the Warehouse to/from Manufacturing/QC and Process Development buildings up to 1.5 miles away.
The role requires walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds independently.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in a GMP Warehouse environment
- 2+ years of experience managing a team
- Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Exhibits strong judgement to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload
- Ability to roll up sleeves and work alongside team when needed
- Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to work with all levels of employees
- Experience working with an ERP system to perform transactions and obtain/analyze reports
- Ability to revise Standard Operating Procedures
- Ability to work in a start-up like environment, help establish new processes, not just experience with existing processes
- Basic Class C driver license
Preferences:
- Forklift certification or experience
- Experience with DOT requirements in the storage and transport of chemicals
- Familiarity with 5S, kaizen or lean concepts in an operations environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 apps, especially Excel
Compensation Range: The base compensation range for this role is between $95,000 and $125,000. However, the actual compensation may vary depending on your experience and qualifications.
