Job Overview:


Job Summary

Trains, and certifies regular and temporary employees on all warehouse equipment and procedures.   Maintain the appropriate records and reports required for daily shipping and daily inventory control.  Monitor employee job performance.  Involvement in continued process improvement, and cost reduction.  Ensure an orderly and safe workplace.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Communicate company directions to subordinates and ensure procedures are in line with compliance; this includes ensuring forklift operators are in compliance with daily forklift preventative maintenance inspection, supervising forklift operators’ activities, conducting departmental meetings, and praising or disciplining subordinates depending on circumstances.
  • Maintain temporary employees’ timecards and sign off employees’ timecards as well as creating the schedule of staff to fit business needs.
  • Assist in the recruiting process of employees.

Reports and Logs:

  • Maintain fleet maintenance records.
  • Maintain a carrier traffic log to ensure the traffic log is followed, and trucks are loaded by appointment.

Inventory Duties:

  • Perform month end physical inventory, and cycle counts, and reconcile if needed.
  • Rotate inventory by Production Date Code.
  • Receive and verify counts of finished goods from production and ensure daily production count is accurate and reported.

Other Duties:

  • Ensure Pick Sheets, Bills of Lading, and if needed, a pallet memo for each shipment is completed and accurate prior to departure.
  • Enforce accuracy of every load; this includes making sure each load has the proper initials and is loaded onto the trucks within the specified time frame.
  • Manages pallets.  This includes ensuring accurate pallet slips; ensuring partial pallets are stocked and stowed; assisting in pallet retrieval; sorting and returning pallets; contacting the appropriate personnel; and ensuring the right amount of empty pallets for the next day’s production.
  • Other miscellaneous duties, including but not limited to the following: audit all purchase orders and check requests; assist with special projects; maintain an organizational chart; maintain a clean and orderly warehouse that follows Sanitation Schedules; order employee uniforms and equipment; and maintain knowledge of Alarm System.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements

Required Qualifications: 

  • Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and 5+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

 


 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in a food manufacturing or distribution environment a plus.
