SUMMARY OF POSITION: 


The Quality Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing the daily operations of the inspection team within the Quality Department. This role ensures that inspection processes meet internal and customer quality standards, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and maintains compliance with applicable regulations. The position serves as a key liaison between the inspection team and other departments, driving quality performance and operational excellence.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of inspection personnel to ensure timely and accurate inspection of products.
  • Monitor inspection throughput, staffing, and scheduling to meet production and quality goals.
  • Support non-conforming product management and first article inspection processes.
  • Establish and maintain quality standards and procedures in alignment with company goals.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and support teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and quality ownership.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and company policies.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE 

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical or quality-related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing quality environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience supervising inspection or quality personnel.
  • Strong understanding of inspection techniques, GD&T, and quality documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with SPC, Lean, 5S, and other manufacturing best practices.


 CERTIFICATES & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • ASQ certifications (CQI, CQE, CQT) preferred.
  • Six Sigma or Lean certifications preferred.
  • Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) preferred.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS WHILE PERFORMING THE JOB:

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity to handle delicate parts and inspection tools.
  • Visual acuity for detailed inspection work.


 WORKING ENVIRONMENT OF THE JOB:

  • Regular exposure to manufacturing equipment and mechanical parts.
  • Occasional exposure to chemicals and high noise levels.
  • Use of PPE required in designated areas.
