YOU

As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for the development and execution of your department’s plans in order to achieve overall business objectives. You will have overall responsibility of production employees within the department, ensuring that we manufacture high quality products, within a safe working environment, and meeting output expectations of customer needs and profitability targets.

This position will supervise our Swing shift (3:45pm – 12:15am).

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)

Coordinate the organization of work within the department by attending daily performance meetings, analyzing of daily department results, collaborating with other departments to resolve issues, correspond with internal and external customers as needed, manage scheduling of personnel to meet demand. Activities are focused on mid to longer term planning needs to the success of the department. (50%)

Manage staffing and development of employees within the department by participating in interviewing & hiring activities, training, and coaching of employees. (25%)

Manage employee performance by leading and motivating employees using effective performance management techniques, including establishing expectations and goals, providing recognition and feedback, and addressing performance problems. (10%)

Improve the flow of work through the department, and gain mid to long term efficiencies by providing guidance and direction the team in continuous improvement efforts. (10%)

Maintain employee relations by ensuring that employee timecards are managed and accurate, resolving issues in a timely matter and consistent with company policies and Collective Bargaining Agreement. (5%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • College degree or technical school certificate in business Preferred.
  • Experience managing within a union environment Preferred.
  • 5 years Manufacturing experience and/or training Required.
  • 3 years managing others Required.
  • 2 years of demonstrated application of supply chain knowledge to management of department Required.
  • 2 years demonstrated application of Lean manufacturing concepts to management of department Preferred.
  • 1 year experience of application of financial impacts to Profit & Loss in the management of the department Required.
  • 3 years effectively mentoring and developing a team Preferred.
  • Experience in quantitative analysis by using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of solution options to problems Required.
  • The ability to monitor/assess your own performance and others’ to make improvements or take corrective action.
  • The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
  • The ability to effectively use Word, Excel, and Outlook to carry out work (intermediate level).
  • The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • The ability to conduct tests and inspections of processes to evaluate quality or performance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, and hear, and sometimes walk and stand. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in both a professional office environment as well as the production floor. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers/scanners, etc. The job may risk exposure to heat and/or cold, wet or humid conditions, fumes and/or noxious odors, toxic/caustic chemicals, dust, loud noise levels and moving mechanical parts.

TRAVEL

This position requires domestic and international travel up to 5% of the time.

WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This full-time, exempt position is located in Stockton, CA. This position will supervise our Swing shift (3:45pm – 12:15am).

RELOCATION

Relocation is not available for this position.

PAY

$68,500 - $109,600 / year
