Purpose and Scope:
The Production Supervisor position will be responsible for daily production activities on 2nd Shift. Lead, facilitate, train, and mentor team members in the areas of safety, quality, production, 6S, & continuous improvement.
Shift Hours: M-F, 2:00pm – 10:30pm
Expected Outcomes/Job Functions:
Maintain safety standards by enforcing policy, providing training, and making safety improvements. Responsible for ensuring an organized, clean, and safe work environment. Lead daily communication of team performance metrics throughout the organization. Ensure consistent application of policies & procedures, including all applicable SOP’s. Responsible for achieving productivity, quality, and safety levels as set for the department. Deploy and monitor staffing to execute production schedule. Promote quality awareness and correct quality issues. Maintain detailed and organized data records for the shift using systems (SAP, Workday, etc.) Drive SAP accuracy across the shift by overseeing and correcting all transactions. Work off-shift as needed for meetings, training, and special assignments. Communicate to other shifts and departments in a clear and concise manner. Lead by example in terms of safety, quality, & productivity. Troubleshoot production issues and help correct issues. Cross train in related functions and assist others in obtaining cross-functional capabilities. Identify developmental needs for all production levels and create appropriate goals. Provide performance feedback and coaching to all production employees, including proactively addressing performance issues. Hire, direct, evaluate, train, and coach team members. Support, understand, and coach others in the use of continuous improvement tools (AMS). Write SOPs to eliminate variation and promote sharing of knowledge. Education and Experience: (minimum requirements)
Two- or Four-year degree, or equivalent work experience in a similar role required.
3-5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing operation
Understanding of safety, quality, productivity performance, & continuous improvement concepts.

5. Computer skills in Windows, e-mail, Word, and Excel to communicate daily and complete documentation of daily operations, projects and procedures. Ability to master SAP program to track shift materials and production.
6. Ability and willingness to conduct effective individual and small-group training for team members.
7. Ability and willingness to learn, understand, and follow documented work procedures.
8. Ability and willingness to generate and support implementation of continuous improvement ideas.

The noise level in the Production environment is usually loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration and risk of electric shock. Production Environment includes varying temperatures (heat and cold).
