CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:
- Completion of NTMA apprenticeship preferred
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in Machine Tool Technologies or equivalent work experience
- Must be reliable and have excellent attendance
- Minimum 2 years of work related experience
- Minimum 2 years of trade school, vocation education, or four years of formal apprenticeship (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Comprehensive knowledge of theoretical and practical aspects of blueprint reading, GD&T
- Extensive knowledge of CNC programming and accepted inspection practices
- Demonstrated ability at operating computer numerical control machines.
- Ability to read blueprints to ensure accuracy in part making
- Ability to speak basic English language
- Must be well organizes and able to effectively present information in one-on-one and large group situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS WHILE PERFORMING THE JOB:
- Frequently standing, walking, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, or bending to the floor.
- Visual acuity: near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints and precision measuring used in the inspection parts.
- Hearing ability: ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action
- Occasionally lifting and/or moving items up to 40 pounds.
- Frequently required to site and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT OF THE JOB:
- Regularly exposed to moving equipment and mechanical parts.
- Physical hazards while working near moving equipment and mechanical parts
- Occasionally exposed to oils and cutting fluids
- Possible breathing of fumes, odors, dust and mist.
- High noise levels from operating machines
- The employee will be required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent exposure to hazardous materials commonly used in a manufacturing environment (i.e., safety glasses and shoes, gloves, ear plugs/covers, mask, cleanroom suit)
