About the Role

The Production Supervisor oversees daily operations in the production department, ensuring parts are produced safely, accurately, and on schedule. This role is responsible for leading employees, meeting performance targets, and fostering a clean, efficient, and team-oriented environment focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. What You’ll Do

  • Ability to express ideas, share information, listen actively, and demonstrate professionalism in written and verbal communications.
  • Strong problem-solving and technical skills related to materials and process technologies.
  • Strong business acumen, along with technical understanding of machining and finishing processes. 
  • Excellent people management skills. 
  • Ability to understand, quickly react, and motivate others to adapt to the changing organization environment. 
  • Strong ability for calculated risk taking; independent decision maker. 
  • Ability to analyze production data/reports to assess impact on throughput, efficiencies, and other Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Partner with Production Manager and Scheduling on issues and obstacles to overcome and work to ensure all machines, equipment, and resources are optimized.
  • Coordinates a seamless hand-off of work-in-process to the next shift, works collaboratively and proactively with other supervisors to ensure work continues to run efficiently throughout the shop.
  • Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and interfaces with all departments within the organization to achieve goals and objectives.  
  • Create a work environment where people are fully engaged and highly accountable.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree in machining, industrial technology, or related field or work experience in place of education. 
  • 4+ years’ of progressively responsible manufacturing experience. 
  • 2 years of leadership experience with teams of 10 employees or greater preferred. 
  • 3+ years’ experience with precision CNC manufacturing equipment, materials, processes, and systems in versatile manufacturing environments strongly preferred. 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to express ideas, share information, listen actively, and demonstrate professionalism in written and verbal communications. 
  • Excellent customer interfacing skills. 
  • Strong problem-solving and technical skills related to materials and process technologies.
  • The ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong business acumen, along with technical understanding of machining and finishing processes. 
  • Excellent people management skills. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling employee relation situations. 
  • Ability to understand, quickly react, and motivate others to adapt to the changing organization environment. 
  • Strong ability for calculated risk taking; independent decision maker. 
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications. 
  • Ability to analyze production data/reports to assess impact on throughput, efficiencies, and other Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. 
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point)
