Sherwood Bedding has 5 factory locations in the United States. Over 4 million Americans are sleeping on a Sherwood Bedding mattress. We are currently seeking a Foam Encased Supervisor to join our team. The Foam Encased Supervisor is responsible for supervising the Foam Encased department and ensuring adherence and quality to production guidelines.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Performing skilled assemblies with pneumatic tools including of air guns, water-based glue guns, and roll coat laminating machinery.
• Application of various specified layers to open coil units, foam-encased pocketed coils units, specified upholstery layers and final mattress assembly with expertise.
• Organizing the work flow to ensure all production schedules are completed in a timely manner and in the proper order.
• Ensuring the proper materials are used and quality standards are met.
• Developing and training department personnel on the proper assembly of components for the mattress based on production schedule and specifications using hog rings or glue and attached border.
• Inspecting finished mattress units and resolves any defects.
• Performing all duties according to established safety and efficiency procedures while maintaining department productivity goals
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs with a two-person lift, standing between 8 and 12 hours per day, walking, pulling, pushing, and stooping.
• Monitoring staff hours and attendance to assist Operations Manager in daily reporting of worked hours.
• Completing all other projects as assigned by Plant Manager and/or Operations Manager

Qualifications and Skills

• Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to motivate and develop employees.
• 3 years previous supervisory experience in manufacturing/sewing preferred.
