Job Description

This position supervises employees in a farm environment: plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. Requires proven experience as a supervisor with the ability to communicate and lead a team. Has good decision-making ability and can handle problems quickly and efficiently.   

Responsibilities include:

• Assists with GPS operation, equipment and decisions
• Directs team members who are performing farm functions during farming seasons and are productive and efficient during off-seasons.
• Works independently as well as ensures team members are being productive in the proper direction daily
• Willing to operate as a team member in a variety of different roles/jobs during the peak seasons
• Assists with irrigation
• Coordinates field drainage projects and repair
• Assists in isolations with neighbors
• Surveys drainage elevations, area and features
• Reviews, suggests and demonstrates equipment
• Determines timing of cutting and pulling operations
• Operates equipment as needed
• Scouts and coordinates chemical applications

Education:  Associate degree with at least 2 years related work experience or 4 years agricultural related work experience, or equivalent.
