RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maximize productivity and profit contributions by planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling activities to achieve the best egg for the least cost from assigned farms.
  • Assist with the management of flocks and the monitoring of environmental conditions of flocks seeing that all details necessary for maximizing performance are carried out on a consistent basis.
  • Assist with the planning and directing of farm work with in your assigned farms.
  • Know, understand, and enforce all sanitation/isolation procedures set forth by Animal Husbandry policy along with company policy.
  • Manage facilities, flocks and bird handling activities in a manner consistent with established animal welfare guidelines.
  • Promote safety so that employees always have safety in the forefront of their minds.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
  • Through leadership, development of competencies, training, and effective role modeling, personally embrace our Cultural Beliefs to create experiences, beliefs, and actions that will drive our key results.  

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • Two years in a leadership role or relevant work experience in the agricultural industry
  • A valid driver’s license with good vehicle operating record required.
  • Employee development, training, and evaluation along with discipline, responsibility, and motivation.
  • A forward thinking attitude and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong problem solving skills and decision-making ability.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to accept challenge and deal positively with adversity.
  • A pattern of initiative and leadership.
  • Able to meet Biosecurity program including wearing eye and respiratory equipment on an occasional basis.
  • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.
  • Applicants must not now, or in the future, require sponsorship for an employment visa.

Preferred

  • At least five years supervisory experience.
  • A degree in animal husbandry or an agricultural related field.

LOCATION: Byron, MN (Company housing preferred at one position)
