Brake Department Supervisor
to lead daily operations within a busy metal fabrication environment.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on, developing teams, and partnering cross‑functionally to deliver high‑quality results in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting.
What You’ll Do
- Lead daily
press brake department operations, ensuring production goals, quality standards, and delivery schedules are met
- Coordinate
workflow, staffing, and machine assignments
to maximize efficiency and throughput
- Monitor and act on production metrics such as productivity, scrap, rework, and on‑time delivery
- Identify and resolve
production bottlenecks and process inefficiencies
- Supervise, coach, and develop press brake operators and departmental leads
- Conduct performance reviews and provide regular feedback and support
- Train team members on
equipment operation, safety practices, and quality standards
- Promote a positive, team‑focused culture centered on accountability and continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with
OSHA regulations, safety programs, and company policies
- Enforce machine guarding, PPE use, and safe operating procedures
- Partner with Quality to address non‑conformances and implement corrective actions
- Maintain compliance with
ISO or similar quality management systems
- Oversee setup and operation of
CNC and manual press brakes
- Ensure accurate interpretation of blueprints, work orders, and technical specifications
- Coordinate preventative maintenance and work closely with Maintenance to reduce downtime
- Support process improvements, tooling optimization, and waste reduction initiatives
- Collaborate with Engineering, Scheduling, Quality, and other departments on production changes and new product launches
- Participate in
Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement initiatives
What We’re Looking For
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in
press brake operations or metal fabrication
- 2+ years of
supervisory or lead experience
in a manufacturing environment
- Strong working knowledge of
CNC press brake setup, tooling, and operation
- Ability to read and interpret
engineering drawings and work instructions
- Familiarity with
lean manufacturing principles
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience in a
high‑mix, low‑volume
manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of
ERP/MRP systems
- OSHA safety training or certification
- Experience with
ISO 9001
or similar quality systems
Education
- High School Diploma required
