Job Overview:

JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: 

Under the supervision of Manager 2, Engineering, the Supervisor will be responsible for managing the activities of the NPI and Test departments. This position will be responsible for planning, scheduling and coordinating the department activities in order to deliver manufactured products in a timely manner. 

 

ESSENTAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Test Engineering:

  • Research and Development is critical in many stages: (Estimating RFQ’s- learning test mating adapters, test specs & test times in a timely matter) & use the RFQ Log & System while understanding spec requirements. Control RMA Evaluation sheets.

Future Projects:

  • Responsible for daily flow & creating test folders. Keep status on work load between pigtails being built, pigtail database & working with the Test Engineers. Attend future projects meetings to always plan ahead and be ready for NPI new builds as well as supporting the Test Engineering team to be prepared. 

NPI:

  • Keep track of all work orders released, status on material and prioritizing the work load. Help the NPI Technicians to be more sufficient & knowledgeable. Having Blue Print reading is very useful in understanding new Assemblies & what they may need to make it more efficient. Work as a team with Engineering. Communication plays a big part in the company’s success. Understanding all requirements.

Test Department:

  • Have test programs ready as well as test setups for reoccurring orders and or larger volume orders.
  • Communicate with Group Leader & test operators. Fix any repairs needed and make any recommendations needed. Have access to the pigtail database and help them with trouble shooting.

Supervision of Employees: 

  • Keep track of attendance, shopfloor transactions, efficiencies, documenting any issues with employees, keeping track of workmanship, communicating with the teams, etc.
  • Communicate with Program Managers, other Supervisors as well as Engineering with issues. All test folders need filing, updated if Rev changes and follow all of our Quality procedures.
  • Other Duties as assigned. 


QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION /EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work in a highly dynamic environment with an emphasis on teamwork, communication and customer satisfaction
  • Good use of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong electronics/ electrical knowledge. 
  • Associates degree in Management or Engineering discipline with Supervisory work experience
  • Familiar with ISO 9000 standards


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Manufacturing experience with technical insight on specific equipment or processes 
  • Understands processes and procedures and can recognize non-conformance or problems 
  • Blue Print Reading
  • Experience with building Cable Assemblies
  • IPC 610 / 620 certifications
  • Bachelors (BS) in Management and or Engineering discipline


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to navigate shop floor.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying of product throughout the manufacturing floor, dock, and warehouse.
  • Must be able to use material handling equipment.
  • Prolonged Standing and walking.
  • Prolonged periods of computer work.
  • Must be able to lift. Carry 10 – 50 lbs.
  • Required to work around chemicals and loud noises.
  • Must be able to work in a clean room and wear clean room attire.
  • Must be able to wear required safety protective equipment including but not limited to safety shoes, glasses or ESD coats.
