Job Description
The MCT Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all maintenance modernization cableway work. Coordinate, integrate, track, and de-conflict the opening and closing of multi cable transits (MCTs) onboard US Naval Vessels. They interpret Marine Electrical blueprints and cable routing sheets. Interface with shipboard electricians for tasking and information feedback loop to drive updates to spreadsheets.
Responsibilities include the following
- Lead weekly meeting with key stakeholders accomplishing cableway work.
- Control, track, and monitor, MCTs being opened and closed onboard the vessel by processing and authorizing (WAFs) work authorization forms, using approved NAVSEA drawings referencing exact locations of MCTs throughout the ship.
- Maintain a list of each MCT opened and closed for the duration of the availability. (Correlate the RA/WAF and work scope to each MCT?)
Requirements
- Must have relevant Marine Electrical experience, understanding and interpretation of electrical drawings, familiar with NAVSEA standard items (009-73)
- NAVSEA Cable way inspector certification (preferred)
- Must be computer proficient using Microsoft office.
- Individual must have keen attention to detail.
- Be willing to work overtime including weekends.
- Must possess good communication skills; written and verbal.
- Generate regular reports.
Required Skills and Education
- High school or equivalent degree.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the trade.
- Must be able to obtain a government access badge.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge in the relevant trade.
- Ability to use discretion and judgment in making operations and personnel decisions.
- Proficient computer skills required including experience with Microsoft Office programs and similar software.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
