Job Overview:
Are you looking for summer work? Are you willing to work on a safety-focused team and experience the success of an exciting industry? Martin Marietta is currently looking for Heavy Equipment Operators to work with us during the summer months at our underground mine and surface operations in Randolph, Missouri. This position is responsible for safely operating heavy equipment to move material within the plant.
Essential Functions
- Participate in safety programs and trainings, promoting Martin Marietta’s Guardian Angel culture
- Operate mobile equipment within active mining locations
- Inspect equipment for signs of wear
- Perform basic maintenance on heavy mobile equipment
- Work in a team environment
- Clean work areas
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
- Proper wear of personal protective equipment
- Notify supervisors of needed repairs
- Ensure materials are properly loaded according to safety requirements
- Assist in plant maintenance and repairs
- Perform duties with minimum supervision

This is a full-time position and will require 40+ hours per week.

Preferred Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- valid US driver's license
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of MSHA regulations
- Effective verbal communication
- Knowledge of heavy mobile equipment and tools including their design, use, and maintenance
Physical Abilities
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment year-round
- General physical activities including climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, reach with hands and arms, and handling materials
