Job Overview:

We are seeking skilled Brazers with 3+ years of commercial or industrial brazing experience to support the fabrication and installation of refrigeration and water subassemblies used in commercial HVAC equipment for a 3 - 6 month traveling contract onsite in Virginia.

Project Specs

  • 3 - 6 month contract assignment onsite in Virginia
  • $34/hour
  • 50+ hours/week guaranteed
  • $45/day tax-free per diem (7 days/week)
  • Private hotel accommodations provided (single-occupancy)
  • Paid travel time
  • Must pass a background check and drug test

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and install refrigeration and water subassemblies for commercial HVAC equipment.
  • Cut, bend, fit, and braze copper tubing and install refrigeration components.
  • Perform brazing on copper-to-copper, copper-to-stainless, and copper-to-brass joints using oxy-acetylene torches and silver-based filler materials.
  • Braze large-diameter piping ranging from 2-1/8" to 4"+ while maintaining high-quality, leak-free joints.
  • Read and follow blueprints, technical drawings, bills of material (BOMs), engineering change notices (ECNs), diagrams, and work instructions.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of recent commercial or industrial brazing experience (residential experience alone does not qualify).
  • Experience brazing large-diameter copper piping beyond typical residential applications.
  • Proficient with oxy-acetylene torches and silver-based brazing alloys.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings using both metric and standard measurements.
  • Understanding of proper heat control, joint preparation, and brazing techniques for copper and mixed metals.
  • Familiarity with refrigeration or commercial HVAC systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools.
  • Commitment to producing high-quality work while maintaining a safe work environment.
