Express Employment is seeking skilled Pipe Fitters and Structural MIG Welders for a client located in Detroit, MI. These are hands-on roles supporting industrial piping systems, fabrication, and structural welding in a fast-paced environment.

**Schedule: **7a-3:30 pm Monday-Thursday & 6am-2:30 pm Friday

Pay rate: $25-28/hr+ BOE

**Location: **Detroit, MI

Position #1: Pipe Fitter

What You’ll Do

• Install, inspect, repair, and modify industrial piping systems, valves, and controls
• Work with systems including water, steam, and process piping
• Read and interpret blueprints and building plans to determine layouts
• Install pipe supports, valves, fittings, and system components
• Perform leak testing and preventative maintenance
• Support HVAC-related piping and facility systems
• Ensure all work meets code, safety, and environmental standards

What We’re Looking For

• Michigan Journeyman Plumber License or equivalent experience preferred
• Strong blueprint reading and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with pipe systems, valves, and process controls
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently or on a team

Position #2:

Structural MIG Welder

What You’ll Do

• Perform MIG welding in multiple positions (vertical, horizontal, overhead)
• Weld subassemblies and components using blueprints and process sheets
• Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment
• Use jigs, fixtures, and measuring tools to ensure accuracy
• Perform grinding, cutting, and fabrication support tasks
• Conduct quality checks and report defects
• Maintain safe work practices and clean work areas

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of MIG welding experience
• Manufacturing or fabrication experience preferred
• Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools
• Comfortable lifting 40+ lbs and standing for long periods
