- Perform GMAW (MIG) and FCAW welding on structural steel, fabricated components, and heavy industrial assemblies.
- Weld structural parts used in air exchangers, heat transfer equipment, structural beams, frames, and other fabricated products.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, weld symbols, and work instructions.
- Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment to safely move materials and completed assemblies.
- Utilize power tools, hand tools, cutting equipment, grinders, and welding equipment to prepare and complete weldments.
- Inspect completed welds for quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
- Measure, fit, align, and tack components prior to final welding.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
- Work effectively as part of a production team to meet quality and production goals.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in structural welding, fabrication, or manufacturing environments.
- Proficient with GMAW (MIG) and FCAW welding processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
- Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts preferred.
- Ability to safely use power tools, grinders, torches, and fabrication equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding industrial environment.
- Welding certification is a plus but not required depending on employer requirements.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing and fabrication shop environment.
- Exposure to welding fumes, noise, heat, and moving equipment.
- Overtime and weekend work may be available based on production demands.
