Job Overview:

  • Perform GMAW (MIG) and FCAW welding on structural steel, fabricated components, and heavy industrial assemblies.
  • Weld structural parts used in air exchangers, heat transfer equipment, structural beams, frames, and other fabricated products.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, weld symbols, and work instructions.
  • Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment to safely move materials and completed assemblies.
  • Utilize power tools, hand tools, cutting equipment, grinders, and welding equipment to prepare and complete weldments.
  • Inspect completed welds for quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
  • Measure, fit, align, and tack components prior to final welding.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
  • Work effectively as part of a production team to meet quality and production goals.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in structural welding, fabrication, or manufacturing environments.
  • Proficient with GMAW (MIG) and FCAW welding processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
  • Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts preferred.
  • Ability to safely use power tools, grinders, torches, and fabrication equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding industrial environment.
  • Welding certification is a plus but not required depending on employer requirements.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing and fabrication shop environment.
  • Exposure to welding fumes, noise, heat, and moving equipment.
  • Overtime and weekend work may be available based on production demands.
