Job Summary The AWS D1.1 Structural Welder is responsible for welding structural steel components in accordance with AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code while meeting safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
•
Perform structural welding using SMAW, FCAW, GMAW (MIG), or GTAW (TIG) as required.
•
Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings.
•
Set up and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently.
•
Weld structural steel in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
•
Follow approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
•
Inspect and repair welds as needed.
•
Maintain a safe and clean work area.
•
Work with fitters, inspectors, and supervisors to meet production schedules.
Qualifications
•
High school diploma or GED preferred.
•
Current AWS D1.1 Welder Qualification or ability to pass qualification test.
•
2–5 years of structural welding experience preferred.
•
Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols.
