Schedule:

• 2nd Shift: Monday – Thursday
• Start Time: 2:30 PM
• Four 10-hour shifts
• Overtime available on Fridays and weekends as needed

Join a Growing Structural Steel Fabrication Team

ZenTech Consulting is seeking an experienced Class A Structural Steel Welder to join a leading structural steel fabrication operation in the Tampa area. This position is ideal for a highly skilled welder with proven experience in structural steel fabrication, flux core welding, and carbon arc back gouging. Candidates must be capable of producing high-quality welds that meet AWS standards and project specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural steel welding using Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) processes.
• Execute carbon arc back gouging operations as required for weld preparation and repair.
• Read and interpret structural steel shop drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
• Weld structural components in various positions while maintaining quality standards.
• Inspect completed welds for compliance with specifications and quality requirements.
• Operate welding and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
• Work closely with fitters, fabricators, and production personnel to meet production schedules.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

• Class A Welder experience required.
• Strong Flux Core (FCAW) welding experience required.
• Carbon Arc Back Gouging experience required.
• Structural steel fabrication experience required.
• Ability to pass a welding test and practical skills assessment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
• Experience working in a fast-paced fabrication environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS welding certifications.
• Experience welding large structural steel assemblies.
• Experience with heavy industrial, bridge, commercial, or miscellaneous steel fabrication projects.
