1st Shift is **typically **5:30am - 4:00pm, M-F
2nd Shift is **typically **4:00pm - 2:30am, M-F.
Welding:
Make It Right
- Identify the piece mark, drawing revision and finish codes.
- Understand part orientation and industry acronyms.
- Read weld symbols.
- Determine what weld types are needed, their size and procedure.
- Perform accurate measurements, layout, and marking using tapes, squares, levels, and layout tools.
- Perform FCAW in the 1G or 3G positions, as required by the shop drawings.
- Perform thermal cutting, back-gouging and grinding as required.
Safety & Teamwork: Safety > Speed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Safely operate overhead cranes, welders, torches and grinders.
- Work collaboratively with CNC operators, foremen, welders, fabricators, painters and QC personnel.
Quality & Documentation: Continuous Improvement
- Perform work in accordance with AISC and AWS Quality Management System requirements.
- Verify material heat numbers, piece marks, and orientation.
- Perform self-inspection of work and correct issues before QC inspection.
- Communicate discrepancies in drawings or materials to supervision.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in structural steel welding.
- Strong ability to read and interpret structural steel shop drawings and weld symbols.
- ***Proficiency ***in welding of structural steel.
- Experience operating overhead cranes.
- Strong understanding of steel fabrication tolerances and quality requirements.
- Dependable, safety-oriented, and quality-focused.
You should be proficient in:
- Tape Measure Reading
- Welding Setups for Production
- Blueprint Reading

- MIG Welder
- Flux-Cored Arc Welder
