Job Overview:

Structural Steel Welder – FCAW / AWS D1.1

Location: Coatesville, PA

Pay: $22–$34/hour based on experience, skill level, and certifications

Schedule: 5:00 AM start | 10-hour shifts | Overtime available

Facility: 65,000 SF AISC-Certified structural steel fabrication facility

JGM Fabricators & Constructors is growing, and we are looking for experienced Structural Steel Welders with strong Flux Core (FCAW) experience to join our Coatesville fabrication team.

This is not an entry-level welding position. We are seeking welders who are comfortable working on large structural steel beams, columns, assemblies, and heavy fabricated components and who understand the quality standards required in an AWS D1.1 environment.

Our teams fabricate structural steel for major industrial projects across the country, including data centers, steel mills, stadiums, conveyor systems, automated racking systems, and other complex heavy-industrial facilities.

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of structural steel welding experience

  • Hands-on FCAW / Flux Core welding experience required

  • Experience welding structural beams, columns, plate, and heavy assemblies

  • Ability to produce quality welds in accordance with AWS D1.1

  • Experience welding in multiple positions, including vertical and overhead, strongly preferred

  • Ability to read and understand weld symbols, WPSs, and fabrication/shop drawings

  • Experience with weld preparation, grinding, carbon arc gouging, and cleanup

  • Current or previous AWS D1.1 certification preferred

  • AISC fabrication shop experience is a plus

  • Strong commitment to quality, productivity, attendance, and safety

What You'll Do

  • Perform FCAW structural welding on beams, columns, plates, connections, and fabricated steel assemblies

  • Complete welds to applicable AWS D1.1 requirements and JGM quality standards

  • Follow WPS requirements and properly interpret weld symbols and shop drawings

  • Perform weld preparation, fitting support, grinding, gouging, and repair work as required

  • Inspect your own work and maintain a high standard of weld quality and appearance

  • Safely work around overhead cranes, heavy steel, fixtures, and material-handling equipment

  • Work closely with fitters, machine operators, foremen, and quality personnel to maintain production flow

  • Participate in JGM's continuous-improvement and safety initiatives
