Job Overview:

AeroMech is seeking a Structural Mechanic and Part Fabricator to support aircraft modification and production activities at our Smyrna, TN and Sanford, FL facilities. This position is responsible for fabricating, assembling, fitting, drilling, and riveting structural components and avionics-related assemblies used in aircraft upgrade and installation programs. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of working from engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions in a fast-paced aviation environment.

**Key Responsibilities

**

  • Fabricate and assemble aircraft structural components and avionics-related parts from blueprints and engineering drawings

  • Perform assembly, fitting, drilling, countersinking, and riveting operations to required specifications

  • Use pneumatic drills, rivet guns, countersinks, files, reamers, and related hand tools

  • Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, sketches, and operation sheets

  • Determine rivet sizes, hole patterns, and assembly sequences

  • Align and assemble parts using jigs, fixtures, clamps, pins, and fasteners

  • Inspect completed work to ensure conformity and quality standards are met

  • Perform rework and corrective actions as required

  • Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with company safety standards

  • Support additional fabrication and installation activities as assigned

**Qualifications

**

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Aircraft, avionics, manufacturing, or assembly experience preferred

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings

  • Ability to work with close tolerances and detailed fabrication requirements

  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and shop equipment

  • Basic computer skills required

  • Ability to perform basic shop math and measurements using fractions and decimals

  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship

  • Ability to read and follow written instructions and procedures

  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or within a team environment

  • Ability to work with composite materials and resins is a plus

**Physical Requirements

**

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to stand for extended periods

  • Ability to climb ladders, stands, and stairs

  • Ability to work in small or restricted spaces as required

  • Ability to perform repetitive fabrication and assembly tasks

  • Ability to work any shift as operationally required

Travel Requirements

  • Travel up to 25% may be required
