Fitter / Welder – Structural Steel Fabrication

Location: New Castle, PA

Pay: $22 – $30/hour (based on experience)

Schedule: Full-time | Overtime Available

Overview

We are hiring an experienced Fitter/Welder to join a growing structural steel fabrication shop in the New Castle area. This is a hands-on role working on custom steel builds, not repetitive production work.

If you have experience reading blueprints, fitting structural components, and welding in a shop environment, this is a strong long-term opportunity with consistent hours and room to grow.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and weld symbols
• Fit and assemble structural steel components (beams, columns, plates)
• Perform welding using MIG, Flux Core, and/or Stick
• Use fabrication tools such as grinders, torches, and plasma cutters
• Measure, align, and ensure accuracy using precision tools
• Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and rigging equipment as needed
• Maintain quality standards and safe work practices

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of fitting and welding experience
• Strong blueprint reading skills
• Experience with Flux Core welding (weld test required)
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
• Reliable, consistent, and team-oriented

Preferred (Not Required)

• Structural steel fabrication experience
• AWS certification (or ability to pass weld test)
• Crane or forklift experience

Work Environment

• Heavy industrial / steel fabrication shop
• Non-climate controlled
• Hands-on, team-driven setting
