What you will be responsible forWe are looking for an experienced structural engineer to join our integrated architecture and engineering team. As a Structural Engineer, your responsibilities will include designing foundations, creating permit and construction documents, and addressing manufacturing and field RFIs for each home. With the opportunity to manage up to 10 projects concurrently, you will contribute to scaling our processes efficiently. You will also play a crucial role in expanding our home product line, which will include designing various components of our home including light-frame wood modules and architectural steel elements.This is a hybrid role working with our remote design team. You may work from our manufacturing facility in Sacramento, our company office in Mountain View, or from home. You must be able to make frequent visits to our project sites in the Bay Area (currently Mountain View, Menlo Park, and San Jose) and occasional visits to our Sacramento manufacturing facility.What you’ll do
Develop a deep understanding of all aspects of the product, including design for manufacturing, transportation, and assembly.
Design and document project-specific structural elements, including foundations, for each home project.
Coordinate with architects and engineers to deliver fully coordinated, constructable designs.
Perform site observation, review submittals, and respond to manufacturing and construction RFIs.
Create structural engineering tools, systems, and processes to expedite the design and documentation process.
Build strong, collaborative relationships with Field, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Design teams.

Skills & Qualifications
Licensed Civil PE in California
Minimum of 8 years of experience in designing light-framed wood systems, architectural steel components such as stairs and canopies, and foundations.
Ability to apply your expertise in novel ways, exploring new approaches and pushing the boundaries of what's possible.
Experience with BIM systems such as Revit.
Experience creating tools and processes for an engineering group.
