This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.As part of a hardworking team of engineers, you will be responsible for the design, manufacturing, and installation of New Glenn Base Heat Shield structural hardware! You will work closely with analysts, materials engineers, procurement specialists, and manufacturing teams to deliver a highly optimized structural assembly for integration onto the vehicle. This role specifically supports our Stage Integration Engineering team, ensuring seamless assembly and integration of the rocket stages to meet our rigorous performance and safety standards.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Primary responsibility: Full design engineering ownership of New Glenn flight hardware, from concept through integration and launch.
· Provide general build support engineering through the disposition of non-conformances, identification of process improvements, and updates to engineering definition.
· Identify, develop, and implement opportunities for New Glenn upgrades and improvements.
· Create and modify drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation.
· Collaborate with analysts, materials engineers, procurement specialists, and manufacturing teams to deliver optimized, ready-to-install structural hardware.
· Support stage integration activities to ensure seamless assembly and integration of rocket stages, meeting rigorous performance and safety standards.
Minimum Qualifications
· Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering.
· 3+ years of experience with automotive, aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structures.
· Experience on recently developed vehicles in one or more of the following areas: vehicle load path distribution and first-order strength assessment and sizing.
· Experience with material selection, compatibility, and manufacturing techniques.
· Strong mechanical design and integration skills using 3D CAD software.
· Experience with GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5).
· Ability to earn trust and maintain positive, professional relationships across multi-functional teams.
· Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with Creo (Pro/E) and Windchill.
· Experience with responsible engineer ownership of aerospace hardware.
· Hot structures or Thermal Protection System (TPS) experience.
· Familiarity with structural bonding using silicone adhesives.
· Knowledge of systems engineering practices, manufacturing fabrication and assembly processes, and quality control.
· Experience with aerospace hardware design ownership from concept through production.
