We have an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Manager leading the GA-ASI Stockroom 101 Warehouse in our Sustainment Organization located in Poway, California. The ideal candidate will have a proven leadership track record of managing large-scale high-volume aerospace and defense warehouse and inventory management operations. The position is responsible for leading two direct reporting supervisors and 14 employees managing over 45,000 stock keeping units (SKUs) or line items of inventory in a 79,000 square foot warehouse.  SR101 is the largest government property warehouse in GA-ASI, supporting 19 international and domestic customers, supporting our customers’ fielded GA-ASI MQ-9 Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems across the globe.  SR101 also serves as the primary focal point for processing all government property disposal across the Company.      

This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the storeroom including receipt, protection, storage, and issuance of all equipment, spare parts, and materials. Plans and directs activities for subordinates to achieve assignments using established guidelines, procedures and policies. Directs the storing, issuing, and delivery of all parts, materials and supplies with responsibility for their security and accountability. Develops and modifies operational procedures. Maintains up to date accurate documentation and reports to reflect storeroom activities. Develops and implements programs and procedures for the training of stores personnel.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides leadership and directs the daily operation of the stockroom department by prioritizing and scheduling work assignments for issuing materials, parts, and supplies to work orders and sales orders.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors standard procedures for the timely and accurate receipt, protection, storage and issuance of all materials.
  • Assists in the installation and implementation of systems used to support the management of inventory accuracy
  • Provides management with reports to examine status and give recommendations as required and works within budget requirements.
  • Coordinates with other departments, locations, and units to ensure maximum customer support.
  • Responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing and maintaining warehouse storage infrastructure, material handling and warehouse equipment and technological improvements consistent with commercial warehousing and inventory management best practices to include effective and efficient utilization and sustainment of recent Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology implementation in SR101.
  • Ensures department complies with AS 9100/ISO 9000 Quality Management System procedures, Government Property Regulations (Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 45, Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 245, GA ASI-00122 Government Property Management) and other relevant regulatory or certification requirements.
  • Assigns tasks, reviews work and provides direction to staff while ensuring processes are met within established timelines.
  • Implement and maintain automated analytical warehouse operations performance management system based on internal, regulatory and contractual key performance indicators.
  • Participates in the planning, attraction, selection, retention and development of human resources to ensure the availability of the required talent.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications

  • Typically requires an associate's degree and nine or more years of progressive experience in stores management or a related field. May substitute additional experience for formal education.
  • Requires a detailed knowledge of warehouse operations, stores & inventory management, material handling, transportation services, as well as relevant regulations and certification requirements such as AS 9100/ISO 9000, and Government Property Regulations (Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 45, Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 245, GA ASI-00122 Government Property Management).
  • Must possess supervisory and analytical skills including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones, measure and improve operational performance, and must be able to identify and resolve unusually complex problems.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and provide direction to and schedule work of assigned staff, including re-arranging schedules to meet changing requirements.
  • Must be able to use e-mail and other office software to maintain relevant accurate electronic records, and able to work extended hours as required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance is required.
