Job Description

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Fabricate and assemble metal and steel components, frames, brackets, and structural parts used in precast concrete manufacturing.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, measurements, and work instructions.
• Measure, cut, bend, fit, and assemble steel and other materials to required specifications.
• Perform MIG welding and other welding processes as needed to fabricate and repair components.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, grinders, saws, drills, and other fabrication equipment.
• Set up and operate fabrication machinery and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Prepare reinforcing steel, metal components, forms, and hardware for concrete production.
• Fit and weld components together using jigs, fixtures, and other positioning equipment.
• Inspect fabricated parts and assemblies to ensure proper dimensions, alignment, fit, and overall quality.
• Use tape measures, levels, squares, calipers, and other measuring equipment to verify accuracy.
• Grind, clean, deburr, and finish fabricated metal components as needed.
• Identify defective materials, equipment issues, or fabrication problems and make appropriate adjustments.
• Assist with repairs and maintenance of fabrication equipment and tools.
• Safely move and position materials using forklifts, overhead cranes, hoists, or other material-handling equipment when qualified.
• Maintain production rates and meet daily fabrication schedules and quality requirements.
• Follow all OSHA, company, and workplace safety procedures, including proper use of PPE.
• Keep work areas, tools, machinery, and equipment clean and organized.
• Communicate with supervisors and coworkers regarding production requirements, material needs, and quality concerns.
• Perform other fabrication, production, and maintenance duties as assigned.
