Steel Fabricator

Location: Detroit, MI

Schedule: Full-Time, Day Shift | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Pay Range: Up to $30.00/hour, based on experience

Overtime: Available

About the Opportunity

A specialized Detroit-area manufacturer serving the foundry industry is looking to add experienced Steel Fabricators to its growing team.

The company operates in a highly specialized segment of the manufacturing industry and is experiencing strong demand with a significant backlog of work. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced fabricator who enjoys hands-on work, wants a steady day-shift schedule, and is comfortable working independently in a smaller shop environment.

This is not an entry-level welding position. Candidates should have a strong overall steel fabrication background and be capable of contributing with minimal training.

What You’ll Do

• Fabricate steel components and assemblies used in industrial and foundry applications
• Perform MIG welding on steel parts and assemblies
• Drill, bend, form, fit, and modify metal components
• Use fabrication tools and equipment safely and accurately
• Read measurements and work from job specifications to complete fabrication work
• Inspect completed work for quality, fit, and accuracy
• Perform repair and modification work on existing components as needed
• Work independently while coordinating with a small production team
• Help maintain an organized, safe, and productive shop environment

What You Bring

• 3+ years of hands-on steel fabrication experience
• Strong MIG welding experience
• Experience drilling, bending, forming, fitting, and working with steel
• Ability to complete fabrication work independently with limited supervision
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a small manufacturing environment where employees take ownership of their work
• Ability to safely operate common fabrication tools and equipment
• Dependable work history and interest in a long-term opportunity
