Job Overview:

Stamping Technician

Perform all necessary set-ups and tear downs of production dies and cut-off machines. Provide necessary support services to production machinery, such as restocking material, performing quality checks and any other duties necessary to accomplish the timely completion of customer orders. Duties as a Stamping technician are to operate, calibrate, and maintain machinery, as well as inspect finished products to ensure quality work.

*Hours: First shift – 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. – Monday – Friday. Overtime opportunities available. *

*Second shift – 3:15 pm to 11:45 p.m. – Monday – Friday. Overtime opportunities available. Shift differential. ***

Duties and Responsibilities

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Perform the following set-up functions:1. Set-up stamping dies, upset die and cut-off machines in accordance with safe machine practices and standard parameter sheets for the scheduled part number;

    1. *Perform necessary adjustments on all tooling and machines to ensure quality parts; *
    2. Report any tooling or machine malfunctions to the Tool Room or Maintenance Department.
    3. Tear down dies at the end of a run and complete the die repair tag.
  2. Maintain quality standards by:1. Reading, understanding and following Process Definitions, RPI’s and blueprints;

    1. Using the proper inspection tools accurately and completely;
    2. Maintaining a regular and continuous in -process inspection on all jobs in the assigned work area;
    3. Reporting safety hazards to supervisor.
  3. Perform time and recordkeeping and routine maintenance activities associated with stamping, including:1. Performing minor press maintenance when needed, such as maintaining fluid levels, changing oil, etc.;

    1. Maintaining a neat, clean and orderly department at all times;
    2. Completing die repair logs both accurately and neatly;
    3. Maintaining parameter set-up sheets;
    4. Delivering dies to the tool room for repair.
  4. Train die operator(s) on the following:1. Maintaining safety in all operations;

    1. Restocking machines;
    2. Maintaining hit-sheet reports;
    3. Performing quality control functions;
    4. Using comparator and other inspection tools;
    5. Maintaining a clean and orderly department.
  5. Restock all raw materials as required to maintain smooth production.

Perform auxiliary duties not directly related to stamping (e.g. unloading of trucks)
