Job Overview:

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

The idea candidate shall be experienced in both mechanical design and process development.  Responsible but not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for mechanical engineering design and development of high speed transceiver modules.
  • Generate solid works models of Optical SubAssemblies (OSA) and Chip on Board (COB) high speed transceiver modules.
  • Collaborate with Transceiver Module Engineering group to develop and define the OSA architecture, as well as optical, mechanical, and RF designs.
  • Document all design details in Agile.
  • Design and fabricate fixtures/tooling required by NPI production. 
  • Familiar with automation systems used for optics manufacturing.
  • Assist in process development activities as required by NPI production.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum # 5 yr. work experience in related field developing electrical/optical systems/subsystems for optical communication.
  • BS/MS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree.

Skills

  • Working knowledge of Solid Works highly desirable.  
  • Experience with process development in optics communications industry.
  • Experience using Agile.
  • Excellent communications skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Good understanding of optical communications subsystems and systems.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work in a clean room environment.
  • Limited travel to Asian maybe required.

Physical Requirements

  • Microscopic inspection of components maybe required.
