EHC is currently looking for a Staff Accountant for a client in the south Houston, TX area.
Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant position is responsible for monitoring the in-flow and out-flow of capital for the company. This position provides financial, administrative and clerical support.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Facilitates payment to vendors, which includes coding, entering, processing invoices and cutting checks, recording manual/wire payments in Yardi; May include verification of federal ID numbers, researching past due balances and resolving discrepancies, in a timely and accurate manner.
- Facilitates upload of positive pay file to bank website for weekly payments.
- Facilitates property tax payments with required tax documents to the appropriate Taxing Authority in a timely and accurate manner.
- Facilitate property insurance payments in a timely and accurate manner.
- Create new vendor accounts and maintain positive relationships with existing vendors.
- Receives and verifies expense reports; reconciles expenses with biweekly Concur billing and other financial reports with account balances and other office records.
- Facilitates check deposits via Remote Scanner for all Amegy Bank accounts.
- Facilitates check deposits by in person deposit for South State Bank and Northern Trust account.
- Facilitates annual Common Area (CAM), Real Estate Taxes (RET) and Insurance (INS) reconciliation by deadlines stated in tenant leases.
- Assists with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions.
- Maintain file folders of all AP & Cash Receipt Records.
- Facilitate annual 1099 Non-Employee Compensation reporting.
- Facilitates annual Tenant Operating, Tax & Insurance Reconciliations
- Other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Proficient in Yardi Voyager 7S, Excel, Word & other Microsoft related programs.
- Reliable and extremely trustworthy.
- Quick at learning new software (financial).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.
- Self-motivated and capable of handling multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Education:
- High school diploma required; Business or Accounting degree preferred. Years of experience can be substituted for degree.
