If you are an electrical engineer seeking career advancement, Emerson has a great opportunity as an Analog Electrical Design-Development Engineer waiting for you!  We are seeking a self-motivated engineer to develop Magnetic and Vortex flowmeter products and technologies on a multi-disciplined project team at our Eden Prairie, MN location.  Ideal candidates have successfully developed electronic products meeting quality, performance, cost, and schedule goals from concept and design through manufacturing introduction with minimal supervision. 

 
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Apply technical expertise, commensurate with extensive training and job experience, in the development of products and processes. Make decisions regarding the creation of new technology and implementation of technical solutions with high levels of technical risk. Manage and lead complex design efforts of new products or significant redesign efforts. Provide technical leadership for multiple products. 

  • Apply your working knowledge of applicable technology and industry/company standards, with a team of engineers, to achieve robust product designs. Work with multi-functional teams to identify and use proven technologies, leverage existing product compositions, and develop original circuit builds. Prepare required technical documentation and data.

  • Support and/or guide new product development tasks like crafting circuits with analog components, conducting peer reviews, planning product qualification, and performing tests. Assure products are tested and documented to Rosemount quality requirements. 

  • Ensure high standards of engineering difficulty are applied to resolving technical issues and making technical decisions.

  • Prepare detailed plans, generally spanning several months, vital to complete assigned projects. Identify assistance needed by other functional groups to complete engineering tasks. 

  • Periodically provide technical support of products to ensure required product functionality, quality and conformance is maintained. Example tasks involve reviewing and approving engineering change notifications, managing and delivering cost savings opportunities, and assisting with resolving customer inquiries.

You are dedicated to pushing yourself and aiding others in achieving results by partnering collaboratively with colleagues to drive projects to completion. Continuously scanning the environment for new technical skills, knowledge, or capabilities, you enhance both business and personal performance. Your ability to ask the right questions enables you to accurately analyze situations, and your proficiency in orchestrating multiple activities simultaneously allows you to accomplish goals efficiently.

 
For This Role, You Will Need:
  • B.S. Electrical Engineering

  • 6-10 years of applicable experience 

  • Proficiency in crafting analog electrical hardware, encompassing A/D converters, low noise circuits, analysis, and simulation

  • Knowledgeable in analog circuit design, microcontroller-based board level design, schematic entry, printed circuit board design and layout, and prototype verification and testing.

  • Experience with linear and switch-mode power supplies and galvanic isolation techniques

  • A track record of successful product enhancements and introductions

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship 
     

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program

  • Experience with international safety and hazardous location design, including intrinsic safety

  • Familiarity with industrial digital communication protocols

  • Experience with EMC requirements and design techniques

  • Familiarity with data acquisition software (e.g. C#, LabView)

  • Experience interfacing electronics to process sensors

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $112,000 - $150,000 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
