The Opportunity
Our location in Lake County, IL, currently has an opportunity for a Senior Quality Technician. The role involves coordinating and performing Microbiology testing and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to support efficient production testing. This position is essential for maintaining high-quality standards and supporting continuous improvement within the organization.
What You’ll Work On
Perform product testing including Bioburden, Sterility, and Enumeration testing.
Ensure that Microbiology testing is scheduled for department according to production due dates.
Manage electronic quality information management system and media growth promotion testing.
Provide support during audits by providing data and represent the area as an SME.
CAPA -Provides inputs to facilitate CAPA investigations as required.
Quality/Compliance -Support manufacturing and testing operations as required, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Laboratory Practices.
Communications - Communicate and collaborate effectively within team.
Documentation - Maintain relevant documents and records.
Manage Product and Process Improvements - Participate in Project and Process improvement activities.
Monitor performance of manufacturing processes and implement required improvement activities.
Provide Quality support to key processes and product development/improvement projects.
Possess a basic understanding of the Quality System; including the Subsystems and is familiar with the Quality System Key processes.
Safety and the environment by complying with all applicable EHS laws, as well at the Abbott Global and Technical standards.
Training - Undertake all trainings and reviews as required.
Identify and escalate any potential non- conformance's / issues to team Leader.
Required Qualifications
High School or equivalent relevant experience to demonstrate equivalence to a degree in relevant Science Area.
0 -2 years’ work experience
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a science, or closely related discipline, or relevant equivalent experience
Healthcare Industry
Experience in a quality laboratory setting
Experience with lab techniques mentioned above specifically aseptic techniques

The base pay for this position is
$25.00 – $50.00/hourIn specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
