Job Overview:
The Corporate Sr. Quality Engineer will play a key high-profile role in the company by leading quality assurance initiatives, developing robust processes, and drive continuous improvement efforts. Performs inspections and sets quality assurance testing models for analysis of raw materials, materials in process, and finished products. Assists in developing quality control policies and evaluates production limitations.
Supports IP Operations with Quality and Process Improvement activities. Displays excellent understanding and use of Quality Management System concepts, Process Improvement tools, and new Product development processes. Utilizes statistical and proven engineering techniques/tools to investigate non-conformances and conduct complaint investigations for customers and internal issues. Facilitates projects and participates in process/product improvements.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
- A minimum of eight years of experience in quality engineering.
- Demonstrated understanding of Quality Management System including ISO and Lean Six Sigma.
- Display technical understanding of engineering and product development principles and procedures
- Possess advanced understanding of statistical process controls (SPC), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and DMAIC/Root Cause investigation tools.
- Familiarity with Minitab or other statistical software and methods required.
- Experience in working remotely with cross-functional teams, including technical and non-technical teams
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Demonstrates solid organizational skills and ability to work independently.
- Strong understanding and demonstrated project management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in chemical manufacturing – batching/blending operations
- Certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and Lean Six Sigma, or similar are strongly preferred
- Project management certification - PMP
Essential Functions:
Product Quality Management:
- Oversees test method development and improvements utilizing MSA
- Audits product validation and finished product performance
- Lead high profile failure analysis, root cause investigations, and implementation of corrective actions as needed.
Compliance and Standards:
- Ensures compliance within industry standards such as ISO9001 and other external agencies
- Manages audits (internal, external) and facilitates corrective actions as needed
Process Improvement:
- Analyze existing workflows and processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Implement Lean Six Sigma methodologies to optimize production and operational efficiency while reducing variation
Document and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate documentation of quality processes, metrics, and nonconformance reports
- Present quality performance data to leadership, providing actionable recommendations
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Project leadership:
- Spearheads strategic quality initiatives through sound project leadership
- Work closely with R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to integrate quality requirements into the design and manufacturing process
- Trains and develops members of the organization on quality principles and statistics
