As an Engineering Manager, you will be using your skills and expertise to support program execution by managing technical teams. These teams will support a wide range of products, from advanced mission systems, web applications, to avionics and embedded systems. You will represent the Software Engineering discipline at the program's management level meetings. You'll ensure that the software engineering design, documentation, and approvals meet the program schedules, are sound engineering decisions, and that engineering hours expended are productive, meeting program goals and budgets. You will oversee training of staff and provide technical direction as required.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development, maintenance, optimization, and accreditation of the integrated digital engineering platform at all security levels
- Ensure seamless integration of various engineering tools and systems within the digital environment
- Ensure technical support, troubleshooting, user feedback gathering, bug reporting is available for platform users and key stakeholders
- Work with other stakeholders to confirm integrity, accuracy, and security of data within engineering platform
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align platform capabilities with project requirements and timelines
- Develop, deliver, and host training programs to educate users on platform functionality and FAQs.
- Continuously evaluate and implement improvements to enhance platform availability, efficiency, and user experience
- Ensure platform is compliant to CMMC standards, company policies, and program requirements
- Monitor platform performance, availability, cost, usage and ensure clear reporting and data-driven decision-making
- Ensure platform is operational within financial constraints of program
- Liaise with software vendors and both internal and external service providers to manage licenses, support agreements, version updates, system updates, etc. in all security environments
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to drive cost-effective and innovative solutions
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of platform architecture, configuration, user guides, and support
- Ensure alignment and synchronization of multi-disciplinary engineering teams
- Collaborate with Cybersecurity, System Security, IT, System Administrators, Lab Managers, external subcontractor teams, government customers, etc. to ensure digital platform is implemented according to stakeholder requirements and schedules needs
- Work with Program Manager and Staffing Manager to manage, obtain, and grow engineering talent required for program task execution
- Work with Program Manager to identify risks and identify mitigation plans
- Manage the engineering platform as a product, retaining awareness of all stages of the product development lifecycle and activities, including requirements definition, architecture development, agile planning, configuration management, delivery, integration, testing, sustainment, and more.
- Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and implementation teams to ensure digital thread is achieved within an Integrated Development Environment (IDE)
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor's of Science degree in a related discipline
- Typically, 8+ years of progressive engineering experience, which includes 4+ years of management experience.
- Experience with large scale software development
- Experience with automation and configuration management
- Experience with software process automation with popular scripting languages
- Experience developing code in at least one high-level programming language
- Understanding of software development methodologies such as Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, and Spiral
- Experience with concept and industry expectations of digital thread
- Thorough understanding of engineering principles and practices
- Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools, analysis and simulation
- Ability to work in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience with identifying and coordinating resources to ensure the required tools, processes, and training are available/effective and programs are staffed and supported to achieve success
- Previous management experience; exposure to recruiting employees; assigning, directing, and evaluating their work; and overseeing the development and maintenance of staff competence
- Understanding of how to prepare project schedules, budgets, bids, and estimates for proposed program work packages
- Prior exposure to working successfully in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment emphasizing rapid prototyping and fielding of capabilities, with minimal supervision
- Mission Operations experience, including GIS

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $189,761.74 - $260,922.39. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
