As a subject matter expert role in Creation Technologies, the Senior Engineering Tech (IL) leads complex design projects in engineering, drives innovation, and ensures compliance with highest quality and compliance standards. systematic improvements on the production floor.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to:
- Leads the design, development and readiness of manufacturing equipment, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to safety standards.
- Handles advanced engineering tasks and escalates issues as necessary, ensuring compliance with quality standards and that products meet customer required specifications and standards.
- Leads complex technical issue resolution, applying critical thinking to overcome challenges effectively.
- Demonstrates expert knowledge in electronics manufacturing, solving complex problems with innovative solutions.
- Responsible for the creation of new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as needed. Takes ownership of SOPs with Subject matter knowledge. Assigns SOPs to Eng. Tech 1 and Eng Tech 2s as appropriate.
- Views and approves technical documents, ensuring they meet industry standards, customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Influences and supports departmental strategies, long-term objectives and technical excellence.
- Responsible for the acquisition of NRE items (stencils, wave pallets, fixtures, test supplies etc.) as per Creation procedure.
- Reviews and approves technical documents, ensuring they meet industry standards, customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Supports the development and implementation of training programs for new technologies and processes, ensuring staff proficiency and operational excellence.
- Leads cross-functional teams in process improvement initiatives, fostering collaboration and innovation across departments.
- Conducts advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving, providing expert-level technical support to the manufacturing team.
- Strategically plans and executes process validation studies, ensuring robust and reliable manufacturing processes.
Process Engineering Tech Specific:
- Leads the integration of new process technologies, ensuring they meet production goals and quality standards.
- Leads optimization of manufacturing processes and equipment, ensuring technological advancement and process efficiency.
- Champions continuous improvement, driving initiatives for cost reduction, process optimization, and enhancement.
- Executes actions based on data driven inputs and process control techniques for process optimization and enhance product performance.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge of all aspects of the PCBA process, including but not limited to:
- a. All SMT Equipment, materials, and processes.
- b. Auto insertion, solder flow processes and cleaning processes.
- c. Automated labelling, marking, conformal coating and manual/auto assembly.
- Mentors team members, enhancing their technical skills and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Leads process development and validation activities, ensuring that new and modified processes meet all requirements and specifications.
- Leads cross-functional teams in root cause analysis, problem-solving, and implementation of corrective actions in process engineering.
- Resolve advanced equipment debug escalations. Interfaces with outside vendors as required.
- Participates in the research and evaluation of new process technologies and materials to enhance production capabilities.
- Influences and supports the implementation of strategic plans for process development, aligning with departmental goals and plant targets.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, pneumatic diagrams, and engineering instructions for assembling electronics units.
