The Opportunity
This position works out of our Abbott Park IL facility.

This position is a critical and trusted leadership role responsible for driving the operational execution of Abbott’s global privacy program. The role will provide ongoing operational support, and manage change initiatives across the organization to advance enterprise-wide privacy objectives.


The Sr Privacy Operations Manager will build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships, working closely with Abbott’s Office of Ethics and Compliance, Business Technology Solutions (BTS), and other key internal stakeholders. This role is instrumental in ensuring that privacy practices are effectively integrated into business processes and that compliance with global privacy regulations is maintained.

What You’ll Work On
As the leader of Global Privacy Operations, you will drive continuous process improvement of Abbott’s enterprise-wide privacy program. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and presenting privacy program metrics and KPIs to senior leadership on a regular cadence.
  • Managing incident response efforts in close collaboration with the Cybersecurity team.
  • Overseeing government inquiries and investigations related to privacy matters.
  • Coordinating external privacy reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Administering individual rights request processes to ensure timely and compliant responses.
  • Ensuring online privacy compliance, including oversight of consumer tracking technologies and privacy-enhancing tools.
  • Proactively identifying and escalating potential privacy issues.
  • Partnering with Abbott’s BTS organization to define, implement, and communicate technology solutions that support privacy operations.
  • Managing the privacy program budget.


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a privacy, compliance, cyber security, or risk management role
  • BA/BS degree
  • Program management and Operational experience
  • Understanding of privacy enhancing technologies (consent management, incident management, cookie management, etc.).
  • Ability to use PowerPoint, Excel, Word, or other technologies to facilitate communicating information to stakeholders, manage personal workload, and track projects and issues.
  • Strong knowledge of data protection and information security laws, rules, and regulations, as well as industry leading-practices and standards.
  • Strong project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CIPP accreditation or similar are highly preferred.

The base pay for this position is

$127,300.00 – $254,700.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
