About Cubic Secure Communications: The future battlespace will be contested. Potential adversaries are expected to be highly adaptive and relentless in their efforts to detect, jam, and intercept mission-critical data. Cubic’s Secure Communications solutions deliver adaptive and resilient communications with Multi-beam, Multi-band, Multi-orbit SATCOM, Software Defined Radios (SDR), Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) Radios and protected waveforms that resolve critical gaps in tactical and operational communications. These solutions provide assured and resilient networked communications in Electromagnetic Spectrum environments and accelerate the evolution to open architectures to enable modern digital communications at the speed of the threat.

Job Summary: Acts as technical consultant or project leader and performs complex mechanical engineering tasks. Provides technical guidance and leadership and may serve as department lead. Provides project coordination and supervision. Coordinates activities for proposals/new business. Defines budget and schedule constraints. This position typically works under general supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority. This is an onsite position, 9/80 schedule.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops equipment interfaces and procurement specifications.
Designs mechanical structures, components, and subsystems.
Prepares design specifications, analyses and recommendations.
Performs modeling or subsystem prototype assembly.
Prepares design and operation objectives, specifications and resource needs.
Recommends test control, strategies, apparatus and equipment.
Supports the interfaces with customers, contractors and marketing vendors.
Evaluates vendor capabilities to provide required products or services.
Conducts in-house design reviews and technical meetings.
Prepares design proposals to reflect cost, schedule and technical approaches.
Monitors project status and progress.
Manages budget and schedule for mechanical engineering tasks.
Keeps abreast of improvements in mechanical engineering techniques.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Four-year college degree in mechanical engineering or science discipline plus a minimum of 8-12 years experience or a Master’s degree with 6-10 years experience. Experience to include hardware development/engineering and exercising creativity in technical directions and successful strategy development. Ability to interpret technical contract requirement. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, interface with customer, subcontractors and vendors, and deal with employees and managers at all levels in manufacturing, engineering and other departments. Must be a US citizen, eligible for DoD security clearance.

Cubic Pay Range:

$140,000.00 - $185,226.00 + benefits.

The Cubic pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
